Questions & Answers:
Q: How did tank ding happen?
A: While i had the tank off re-doing the liner, it slipped out of my hands and hit the bench before i could catch it.  On a walk-around, the dent itself is small, and
almost un-noticeable behind the steering damper.  I’ve been told by a pro it’s an easy, and relatively cheap fix.
The upside is that the new POR-15 liner came out perfectly.  It, and the new ethanol resistant fuel lines, will last years.
Q: What about the timing belts?
A: They were done at around 6k miles by MotoCorse in Fort Lauderdale.  They also did the ecu tune, etc.
**update** i cannot locate the receipt for belt service.  I do believe the belts were done at the 6k service interval, however, i cannot prove the work was completed as previously stated.  That said, replacement belts are about $100 on ebay, and plenty of how-to videos on youtube for the DIY’er.
Q: do you have any paperwork?
A: yes.  original owners manuals, original dealer bill of sale, exhaust and extras receipts, a few receipts for service.
Q: why are you selling?
A: ‘economy forces sale’, two kids in college, i need the money …pick one.
Q: what does it need?
A: if it were me, as with any used bike, flush/change all the fluids, tune-up, battery is 2+yrs old (kept on charger).
Q: does the rear stand come with bike?
A: yes
Q: do you have the original exhaust?
A: yes
Q: why was the tank liner replaced, was it rusted?
A: ethanol took its toll on the liner and the fuel lines over the course of 20yrs.  The factory liner was peeling away, and the fuel lines disintegrating, to the point the system was unable to pump fuel and the filter was all clogged.  This is a common issue for bikes (and cars) manufactured before ethanol fuels were the norm.  google it, and the POR-15 fuel tank sealer kit.  There is/was zero rust.
Q: How old are the tires?
A: 3rd set of tires in 22yrs, these are about 5yrs old, give or take 1k miles. zero signs of abnormal wear, dry rot, cracking.  bike has always been garage kept, and moved around regularly to avoid any flatpsots.
Q: Interested in trades?
A: no, sorry, not interested in any trades at this time.
Q: do you have both keys for the bike?
A: no. there is only one key.
Q: does it have the ‘auto up’ kickstand?
A: yes.  when the bike is tilted upright off stand, it comes up automatically.
